  • 2nd tenor

  • 1st or 2nd bass

Auditions will take place end of August 2026, and you can already sign up via the form below. The auditions will be held in Udsigten by Tangkrogen.

About the audition

Admission to VoA is based on a vocal audition of approximately 15 minutes, followed by a short conversation with Tine and a small selection of VoA singers.

Beforehand, we send you an excerpt from a choral arrangement, which we will ask you to prepare so you can sing it together with the small group of singers. You do not need to know it by heart, but you should know it well enough to be able to focus on listening to the others, so you can find a good blend together.

In addition, you should bring an English-language solo song of no more than 3 minutes. We would like to hear how your voice sounds when you sing in the range where you feel most comfortable. In other words, if you are auditioning as a 2nd alto, choose a song that shows us your lower range. If you are auditioning as a 1st soprano, choose a song that shows us your upper range.

We would also like to hear how your voice sounds when you sing softly and when you sing with more power. You can sing a cappella or with accompaniment, depending on what suits you best. A piano will be available, and we are happy to accompany you if you bring sheet music or chords.

The vocal audition will finish with a listen-and-repeat exercise, where we would like to get a sense of how quickly and accurately you can learn part of a song by ear, as well as a register exercise, where we would like to hear the full extent of your vocal range — low and/or high — so we can get to know your voice even better and find the most relevant voice section placement for you.
