The Musical Standard of VoA
Singing in VoA means being part of a musical community where we create something together that none of us could achieve alone.
Our music maintains a high artistic standard—tonally, dynamically, and rhythmically—and we perform demanding arrangements ranging from 8 to 17 parts. Therefore, it is essential that you have a well-developed and healthy vocal technique, strong musicality, and solid choral experience, enabling you to contribute your unique sound while blending into the collective whole.
We emphasize our singers' ability to convey music with expression, presence, and joy. While technique and musicality are vital, the most important thing is the ability to tell stories through song and a desire to contribute to our shared expression.
Sight-reading is not a requirement, but being able to navigate a musical score is an advantage. In return, we expect you to have performance experience and a desire to develop both musically and technically.
For VoA, the goal is not merely to impress, but to make an impression! We prioritize a team of singers who wish to give their very best for both the music and the community. We depend on each other, and that is exactly what makes our music powerful and resonant.
If you are passionate about singing in a choir at a high international level—and believe that music only truly moves people when sung with presence—then VoA might be the perfect place for you.
